Access4Bikes Votes Endorses Chance Cutrano for Fairfax Town Council
Access4Bikes Votes, a Political 527 Organization, is pleased to make our first city/town council endorsement. We proudly endorse Chance Cutrano for Fairfax Town Council. Chance has been an exceptional advocate for bike commuting and for general bike access all across Marin. As a member of the Transportation Authority of Marin and the Ross Valley Safe Routes to School Task Force, Cutrano has consistently demonstrated strong advocacy for cycling in Marin County. As a leader with the Sierra Club, Chance has bridged divides and enhanced dialogue between various user groups, leading to the Club's support for bike access on Sorich Park trail and Marin Water's Watershed Recreation pilot program. Cutrano has pledged to support our work at Tamarancho and include us in discussions about the Wall Property's recreational use. His balanced approach, understanding both environmental conservation and recreational needs, makes him an ideal candidate for the Town Council. We believe Chance Cutrano will champion sustainable transportation and recreation while addressing broader community needs, and we urge our members and supporters to vote for him in the upcoming election.
Access4Bikes Votes endorses Diana Maier and Robert Sandoval for MMWD Board Division II
Access4Bikes Votes is pleased to announce our endorsements in the Division II race for the Marin Municipal Water District Board of Directors. After the candidate forum held last week, we have concluded that both Diana Maier and Robert Sandoval would be excellent representatives for the district. To learn more about both candidates, check out their answers to Access4Bikes Votes questionnaires here: Diana Maier and Robert Sandoval. Both will be at Biketoberfest in October and you can talk to them about their priorities at that event. We are confident that they will support the pilot trail sharing, and e-bike projects. Both are also committed to working with us to achieve equity in use on the mountain.
Access4Bikes Votes Endorses Brian Colbert for Supervisor
Access4Bikes Votes, a political 527 organization is pleased to make our endorsement for Brian Colbert for District 2 of the Marin County Board of Supervisors. District 2 encompasses the greater Ross Valley including Fairfax, San Anselmo, Ross, and Larkspur. Brian currently serves on the San Anselmo Town Council, and on the Transportation Agency of Marin (TAM) Board and has been a steadfast promoter of alternative transportation including bicycles and bike lanes. He has offered solutions for cleaning up traffic and congestion at the Hub, and has been a proponent of bicycle access on MMWD watershed lands. Most recently, Brian was part of an historic vote by the Town Council to open up Sorich Park to bicycle use. We believe Brian will continue to champion solutions to meet our community’s most pressing challenges. And as mountain bikers, we believe he will be a champion of spending Measure A funds to get users out on our open space parklands. For these reasons, we urge our members and supporters to vote for him in the upcoming election.

Access4Bikes Votes Endorses Dave Keatley for Marin Water Board
Access4Bikes Votes, a political 527 organization, is pleased to announce its first endorsement for the Marin Water Board District V race! It is with excitement that we endorse David Keatley of Larkspur. Visit his web site here.
David is running against long time incumbent Larry Russell, who has been a fierce anti-bike member of the board for over a decade. David is committed to working with us on solutions for trail access that are sustainable, increase user experience, promote safety, and provide equity in usership. At this time, we are building a core of members who are willing to walk precincts for David’s campaign. Please send a note to williamjkeene@gmail.com if you are interested in helping. In addition, Access4Bikes Foundation is hosting a candidate night on March 26 with all of the candidates who are running for the Water Board races so folks can get a better idea of the positions of each candidate on major issues.
Meet the Candidates for Marin Water Directors
Access4Bikes Votes is excited to host a Candidates’ Night for the Marin Water Directors races. The event will be September 26 at 6:30 pm in the Creekside Room at Dominican University. As the election approaches, we believe discussing community issues will greatly contribute to the constructive dialogue that our community needs.
The event will be moderated, and cover a well-rounded set of topics, including water supply and rates, as well as recreation-focused matters. Audience members will also be able to ask their own questions.
Previous Candidates’ Nights we’ve held for Marin Water and Marin Board of Supervisors elections were well-received. This platform provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to engage with the community, share their views, and address concerns directly.
We hope to see you there!
Attend the MMWD Singletrack and eMTB Bike Pilots Meeting
MMWD Pilot Program Updates Coming Soon [Updated: New Date!]
We know, we know... it's taking a bit longer than we had hoped too. But A4B staff were recently briefed by MMWD representatives on the progress of the singletrack and eMTB pilot programs on the watershed, and we have some more information to share.
At the September 3 board meeting, MMWD staff will present their recommendations to the Board of Directors for the pilot programs. Though it will certainly take time before the pilots are implemented, we are optimistic that we will be riding bike-legal singletrack on Mount Tam in the coming months!
If you are able, please consider attending the meeting in person or on Zoom to let the Board know you support the expansion of bike access on the watershed.
September 3 Board Meeting:
6:30 PM
MMWD Board Room
220 Nellen Ave., Corte Madera, CA 94925
Meeting Agenda and Zoom Link will be posted 72 hours in advance at https://marinwater-ca.municodemeetings.com
As always, we thank you for showing up, as your presence and participation to support the process make a huge impact.
Important MMWD Meeting This Week!
Please attend this critical meeting of the Watershed Committee on Thursday, June 20 at 9:30 AM!
We've come a long way in supporting MMWD in its process of opening trails to bikes on Mt. Tam. We need to continue to show up as a community to let them know we are behind them.
At this meeting, the Pilot Project will be discussed in detail, and trails included in the Pilot Project will likely be announced. Help ensure Marin Water hears supportive voices!
Save the Date! Important Marin Water Meeting Coming Thursday, June 20th.
On April 16, 2024, the Marin Water Board of Directors approved the Watershed Recreation Management Planning Feasibility Study. One of the critical components of the study is the implementation of pilot programs for allowing mountain bikes on singletrack trails on Mount Tamalpais.
On June 20, Marin Water’s Watershed Committee will meet to discuss these pilot programs. Access4Bikes Votes needs your help in ensuring that the Marin Water Board hears supportive comments from the community. As the meeting time and location is finalized, we will let you know.
For more information on the study, check out https://www.marinwater.org/WatershedRecPlan
Marin Water Recreation Management Plan Meeting (Updated!)
We need your help to reach a critical milestone in these efforts, the approval of an updated and improved MMWD Watershed Recreation Management Plan.
There is a very important meeting coming up on February 29th where the Board of Directors will hopefully finalize the plan and include elements that support expansion of mountain biking on Mt. Tamalpais.
This is scheduled to be the FINAL MEETING of the 18-month Management Plan process, which we’ve been actively participating in. It is imperative that cyclists attend this meeting and make your voices are heard.
